Eliminate COVID-19 Contamination with Microbial Cleaning from CEG

April 10, 2020 by Writers

Clean Environmental Group (CEG) has been providing microbial cleaning in Atlanta for over a decade, and we are proud to offer this service now as Atlanta battles the COVID-19 pandemic. While CV-19 is a new threat, the cleaning methods, equipment, and products used in the environmental abatement field lend themselves to coronavirus decontamination.

The environmental remediation services we provide are much more complex than what is offered by merely hiring a cleaning crew; we have the experience, tools, and training to take on disinfecting and deep cleaning many types of settings to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Our team members have taken classes and are certified in COVID-19 disinfecting, and we are standing by to assist you. Contact us online for a free estimate, or give us a call at 678-807-7900 to discuss your coronavirus disinfecting and cleaning needs.

Why Microbial Cleaning is Important During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlantans have been frantically buying cleaning supplies in hopes of preventing the spread of the disease. While the main mode of transmission seems to be person-to-person via airborne respiratory droplets, surfaces like light switches, doorknobs, counters, handrails, elevator buttons, shopping carts, card readers, gas pumps, and other surfaces are also a hazard when it comes to the spread of the coronavirus. Unfortunately, while people may be stocking up on cleaning supplies, not all of them are putting those supplies to use correctly.

What is Microbial Cleaning?

Microbial cleaning uses a mixture of enzymes, microbes, a surfactant, and an aqueous carrier to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi, including many of the resistant strains that other cleaners do not. (If you take digestive probiotics, you may recognize some of these like Bacillus and Pseudomonas.) This combination creates catalytic activity in a pH range that kills or deactivates dangerous contaminants, making it an effective disinfection method for coronavirus and other pathogens.

Scientists are still researching exactly how long CV-19 stays active on various surfaces, but currently the estimate is that the virus can remain active on hard surfaces for up to 9 days. That’s where microbial cleaning comes in. Our highly-trained staff use microbial cleaning products and techniques to disinfect both residential and institutional spaces, effectively sanitizing surfaces including tile, glass, metal, ceramic, plastic, concrete, and more.

Here at CEG, we have cleaned classrooms and common areas for Atlanta Public Schools, as well as cleaning for the U.S. Department of Housing, Bank of America, private homes, businesses, and other institutions. Our abatement and remediation staff is trained in cleaning asbestos, mold, lead dust, and other environmental hazards, and we are available now for residential, commercial, and institutional cleaning services to combat the spread of CV-19. Call us at 678-807-7900 to learn more, and stay safe.
